I don't know about you, but I'm very suspicious of any product that's been named the highest rated wrinkle cream. Who created this rating system? What are the criteria? You usually find these ratings in a magazine. Beware, because I'm sure there is a whole lot of bias going on.

You see, magazines make money by selling advertising spots in their pages. In fact, the bulk of each magazine issue is advertising, not content. Often, the skincare product named highest rated wrinkle cream by the magazine editors is also featured in the magazine as an advertisement. Essentially, the magazine is earning ad revenue from a company, while at the same time presumably giving an "unbiased" review of that company's products. Yeah, riiiight.

This is why you can't trust rating systems anywhere. There is always a financial conflict of interest and, as a consumer, you can never be certain of the bias that creates.

What should you do instead?

When you're looking to buy wrinkle cream, don't rely on the opinions of others. I don't care if they are experts. You don't know what their motivation is in recommending a specific product. You don't need their help anyway. You can can learn what really makes a skin cream effective on your own. Actually, I'll give you a nudge in the right direction.

Did you know there are three root causes of wrinkles?

It's true; here they are:

  • The gradual loss of collagen and elastin

  • The breakdown of hyaluronic acid

  • Free radical oxidation damage

When you go out to buy wrinkle cream, these three natural processes should be on your mind. If a product is supposed to be the highest rated wrinkle cream, it had better address these major skin agers. Next time you read a list of the top ten rated skin wrinkle creams in a magazine, call them up and ask if they know what actually causes wrinkles. I bet you get a lot of mumbling, fumbling, and stonewalling, or a polite "we'll get back to you".

Back to the point, which natural ingredients target the root causes of wrinkles?

As a consumer, this is THE question. But, unfortunately, it's not the focus of this article. Just know that when you buy wrinkle cream it should contain at least one corresponding natural ingredient for each major skin ager. This is the science of fighting wrinkles, the real science of finding the highest rated wrinkle cream. To learn more about this, visit my site and find out which natural substances powerfully target the roots of wrinkes and skin aging.
